Our Story

We are united in our belief that Every Human Being has a right to be treated with Dignity & Respect. We will work to ensure that our laws & behavior reflect these values.

The core purpose of the Women's March and other Sister Marches across the country is to stand in solidarity in a peaceful act around the world at the same time. The mission of Women’s March National is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. Women’s March is a women-led movement providing intersectional education on a diverse range of issues and creating entry points for new grassroots activists & organizers to engage in their local communities through trainings, outreach programs and events. Women’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect.

Not only will women attend the Women’s March, but all people, regardless of gender, are encouraged to peacefully march.

Women’s March Rockford recognizes that we all march for different reasons including: dignity, respect, justice, democracy, empowering those affected by domestic violence, eliminating racism and hate, fair wages/equal pay, access to healthcare and embracing and uniting the diversity of Rockford. Women’s March Rockford would like to empower one another and give voice to the voiceless.

Women in Rockford are instrumental in bettering our communities within their separate circles, groups, and organizations. This march aims to bring these women and organizations together. Organizations that fight for social justice and support women’s rights as human rights as well as any press questions can be emailed to: womensmarchrockford@gmail.com
